Here is my analysis from a play this past week. This is from my losing pick on Tennessee. I am just showing my product since Vito wants so badly to promote me.
There won't be a better situation the rest of the playoffs so I am losing the normal flat betting approach for this one. I love teams that play physical and run the ball, you guys know this. I love them even more in the playoffs. Look at this past week's winners and the teams that ran the ball/stopped the run dominated. I am confident Derrick Henry will be back, that is #1. If he doesn't play, the line will probably cede back to -3, but I will still like this match-up. Burrows was pretty good this past week against the worst defense in the playoffs. The Raiders red zone defense this season was the worst in 30 years. I did not even know that till I heard it on the broadcast. The Raiders pass defense allowed 29 TD and only 6 int., the worst ratio in the NFL. The Titans by comparison allowed 24 TD but had 16 int., top 10 in the NFL in TD/int. ratio. Burrow for all his moxie will now have to play his 1st road playoff game. He might not struggle, but he has a MUCH tougher situation to deal with this week. The Titans run game is facing a BADLY beaten up Bengals defensive line. DT Ogunjobi, who had a breakthrough season is out for the season after hurting himself vs the Raiders. Their best edge rusher, Trey Hendrickson is questionable and under concussion protocol. He could be fine, he could be out several weeks. The NFL does not mess around with concussions. Ex-Packer Mike Daniels also left the game Saturday with a groin injury. That is 3 BIG pieces from what would normally be the starting D line that could be out. Not good when facing the best running team in football. They weren't great at stopping the run WITH those guys. The Titans are the forgotten team this week. I watched ESPN all morning and they talked about the Cowboys a lot obviously, but there were discussions about Josh Allen and Mahomes. The Rams vs Brady got a lot of discussion. The Niners vs Green Bay is a very sexy match-up and they discussed that as well. The Titans vs Bengals discussion amounted to them debating whether or not Burrow is good enough to lead the Bengals on a Super Bowl run. The Titans weren't even mentioned. The Titans who struggled with injuries most of the season had a week off and are as healthy as they have been for months. Let's not forget, that despite their injuries they secured the #1 seed in the AFC, not Buffalo, not Kansas City...They did. They are a playoff veteran team that is led by a playoff veteran QB. They are a "tough guy" team and they can exert their will on ANY opponent if they execute. The Bengals are an exciting up and coming team with a great future. In my opinion they are in over their heads this week.
