49ers have a yards per game differential of 97 yards compared to KC 32. That is a huge difference, but I’ve yet to hear anyone, pro bettor, or radio head mention it - and I live in Santa Clara. This SB reminds me of the 49er Dolphin SB when Marino was getting all the love and the 49er #1 defense with Joe Montana was an after thought. If Jimmy doesn’t throw any GaroppOHNO! passes I think 49ers win. I like your comment about the starting QB being their secret weapon. I had abandoned the 49ers when York fired Harbaugh, but renewed my interest when the got JG as I had wanted them to draft him out of college. I need no convincing as to his ability as I followed those first 5 games very closely, but thanks for the link I will watch. Yes, being at two Super Bowls, even on the bench, is of help, just heard Eric Davis say the same thing. I think I’d do a Mostert MVP, but part of why the 49er offense is so effective is that one never knows how Shanahan will decide to attack. Sometimes, even he doesn’t as stated in recent postgame press conferences. KC D strength is outside the numbers, 49er O strength is between them, another match up advantage tilting their way. I do expect Deebo to get some big catches down the middle of the field. If KC sells out to stop run, I’d expect Deebo and Kittle to have big days. If they believe the media, then I guess they will adopt a “make Jimmy G beat us” game plan.
Kudos to you for getting in on the Niners so early. I have never made a preseason bet, don’t seem to have a feel for how players will perform, but I was looking forward to this season. Talking heads, local and national were debating whether they could go 8-8 or 9-7!
