As someone who is in contention, and clearly affected by the decision to allow Gibby to change his selection 18 minutes after it was posted (and subsequently deny him the ability to right this wrong by not deducting the 1 point for the incorrect selection), I feel that I have remained silent long enough. While I agree it was an honest mistake, I must reference the legal precedent ignorance of the law does not excuse it (Google it). By entering this contest, we all agreed to the follow the predefined rules. Although Fish's original post does not clearly specify that selections cannot be changed, this is the norm for these types of contests, and was also strictly enforced when D-Man was running the contest. I can't count the number of times I've hastily included the wrong team in a parlay or teaser, or live bet the 1st half line when I thought I was playing the full game, but I can't call 5Dimes to change my selection. This rant is not so much about the being 4 points behind Gibby instead of 3, with only 3 weeks to go, because I'm sure I have a 1-4 or 2-3 week coming in the next three weeks. I just don't see the reason for being forced to select all 5 games at once if you are using the Saturday game(s). I like one game on Saturday, but also look at a number of factors on Sunday morning before making my selections. I guess what I'm asking is since we've already established leniency in the rules, what's the logic behind being forced to post Sunday games on Saturday if you wish to use a Saturday game in your selections? Please excuse me if I'm misinterpreting the policy. I guess what I'm saying is can I e-mail Fish my Saturday play, have it posted in this thread for transparency's sake, then add my remaining plays on Sunday?
Sorry for the lengthy post, and thanks to Fish for organizing this contest. Best of luck to everybody in the next three weeks.
