Last year both the RAMS and the JAGUARS managed to increase their regular season win totals by seven games from the previous season. This year it's hard not to like either club as both teams, especially the Jaguars, have solid defenses. Will the RAMS take another step forward? They've found a young coach who seems to be well respected throughout the league. Will the JAGUARS take another step forward? They've added Andrew Norwell, who graded out as one of the best guards in the league, to bolster their offensive line, and this will be the team's second year in both their offensive and defensive systems. I kind of like the direction both teams are headed, but if you are planning on betting these teams OVER on their season win totals take a look at the chart below. Simply put, since 1992, 23 teams have experience a 7+ bump in their regular season win totals and the next year only one team, the 1998 Jets, managed to win more games. However, two teams did manage to equal their previous regular season's win total, but that leaves us with 20 out of 23 teams regressing the next season. So, if you like the JAGS and RAMS as OVER season win total candidates tread carefully as historical trends seem to point in the opposite direction.
Do you think either of these teams will regress?
