All of the bigger cappers I've seen in videos and such talk about CBB. Softest lines out there because there are too many games (and other sports) for the books to put as much time and focus on. I haven't been doing this very long and can't even count how many times NBA games have come down to being within a basket one way or the other. The books are petty darn good when it comes to NBA from what I've found and part of what I also find difficult about CBB is exactly what Chuck was saying. So many teams to keep up with - the data isn't as readily available for teams - injuries are harder to keep up on..etc.
Everything I've heard in the past is that CBB is softer and easier than NBA is.. I guess that leads me to my biggest newbie question - how do those of you who bet on it regularly keep track of it all? All the games? All the data? All the injuries? I know you can follow beat writers on Twitter, but with all the schools out there I can only imagine how many you'd need to follow..and where would you even find them all? With the NBA we can shout out a few websites like Rotoworld or Teamrankings and you can find lots of the data you need for the entire league right there. Are there any websites that offer this kind of data for CBB or do you guys find yourselves needing to visit school websites and stuff like that? Are you open to betting any teams or do you mostly follow the same teams and only bet those??
The markets are insane in CBB....You can track all the teams you want, but finding games that are just off is the way to bet CBB....When was the last time you noticed an NBA line move 8 to 11 points....That's almost never going to happen. Early on in CBB, it happens daily. That's just books putting up any old number by taking the avgs...It's just bad bookmaking...Hell I've seen books throw up an opening line just so everyone would copy and paste it...Then it gets pasted and you better believe that book that posted that bad line is betting into every shop they can at that junk number. You dont see this in the NBA..just one example...Siena just lost the best player on the team to a transfer..Not a big school, nor a big name..Do you think that will be factored into the betting line for the next game..I'm not sure either, but I already have a line with him and without him...I'm just waiting to see if the books copy and paste avgs for a low level game with a very low liquid market.
