The Scott Spreizter record question is another great example of how effective and transparent Pregame’s record system is …
* Every pick ever from every Pro is available for anyone to review at anytime.
* Anyone can ask a question about any promoted record.
Scottydog asked such a question, going so far as to claim Scott Spreizter was “well short of his tweet tout” … and then went on to lament … “It's no wonder legalized sports betting is fighting an uphill battle.”
Well, the facts are (provided by record keeper Jeff Scott):
17-4 MLB run (promotion was 18-4)
85-51 MLB run (promotion 86-52)
Obviously Scottydog’s dark characterization of “falsified” records were proven to be without merit – but at the same time, we did uncover one less win and one less loss in Spreitzer’s record (which has now been corrected).
Adding one win and one loss actually hurt Scott’s win %. There’s no doubt this was an unintentional human error - but it’s great that Pregame’s open thread helped us uncover even such a small correction.
It’s extremely noteworthy that in around 470 days of this thread being open – this is the FIRST TIME Scott Spreitzer has had to make any type of correction. Not a single correction in over 15 months!
What is lamentable is that it wasn’t enough for Scottydog to just ask the record question – instead, he cast unwarranted accusations against a Pro with a stunningly accurate record keeping history – a Pro who happens to work extremely hard to provide so much free content to the entire community.
Pregame.com has made a great effort to create the fairest possible platform for both the Pros AND their followers to exchange value. To be a part of this, BOTH sides of that equation are obligated to live up to the Pregame.com standard.
