Gentlemen - Just a little insight and discussion points.....
Did some quick calculations and have a few observations. The Computer Bob numbers are very easy to see, and those are the Bet Like a Pro numbers. On August 31st, 2016, Steve was up 25.68 for the year, Sept 30th, up 33.21 for the year, and as of today, up 18.9 for the year.
Quick synopsis, September was good, October has been brutal.
A quick check of the Home Page plays for October has been -16.55 as of today. So yeah, pretty close to the BLAP numbers, which has been the norm for the football seasons.
Here's what matters the most.....
The BLAP program has been kinda sad. 2015 ended up right at +1 unit for the year, which, based on the rules of the program, made it a ridiculous waste of time end energy. This year it is up 19 units, which makes the program up 19 units for the last 22 months. I'm no expert, but any pro that makes less than one unit a month is not a pro for long.
At this point, based on those numbers, Steve might be a bettor, but it can't be his profession, he'd be flat broke. Make no mistake, Steve is a worker bee, and his employer is Pregame. And hey, that's fine, but passing Steve off as a professional bettor who just happens to stop by Pregame from time to time is nuts. My guess is that Steve puts in more hours at Pregame than anyone else and Pregame is by far the greatest source of his income.
That being said, we, as amateur handicappers searching for wisdom and edges, must learn to separate the noise from the actual information. RJ will say it over and over and over again that Steve is an NFL expert handicapper, the best he knows, etc....Well, the numbers don't match up, and haven't for a great amount of time.
Another solid indicator is his futures plays. Yeah, it's only week 6, blah, blah, but even Steve will admit that his futures predictions for this football season are just way off. This is not what we expect from an advantage gambler that never sleeps. Yeah, that's just marketing...also known as noise. What it means in actuality, is that Steve's football radar is off, and his futures plays, and performance through six weeks is proof of that.
It's mostly noise folks. Me? Just watch the program with the sound turned off and make short term sports investments based on gathering a ton of info. Following Steve blindly is absolutely not a formula for success.
Carpe Diem -
