Oregon offense is dangerous as we all knew already but wow thar was impressive last night, and for me at least any questions of that freshman qb being nervous about huge game, well thats out the door. I was not shocked but surprised by some of those passes he made, 20-23 for 302yrds and 4 td's at USC, impressive. That being said Oregon's D need some work to do, they aren't terrible by any means but 51pts is a lot to give up, but its not like usc doesn't still have one of the best offenses in the county. Tough loss for LSU and good late win by Bama....all that being said with Oregon's QB and those rb's I think they scored enough pts to beat bama....But if things pan out and these two teams play for the championship Saban's gets a month to prepare for them, which is scary, difference will be that Chip Kelly is a great coach in his own right and doesn't make questionable play calls like Les or Lane who have all the talent in the world but are just not great coaches IMO....
IMO the biggest difference between Alabama and everyone else is.
1) They hit so much harder then everyone else. Their all just freaks w/regard to strength & speed. Former RB Trent Richardson at 5'9" 220lb's benched 475lb's , squatted 600lb's, and cleaned 375lb's and he is a RB. Richardson is so strong that his strength and conditioning coach would not let him go heavier than that for fear of injury, saying "The last thing I need to do is mess this kid up", indicating that we'll never know his true one rep max. If you've ever seen anyone bench 400 + pounds, the bar bends. That's a sick amount of weight for a guy of his size. I hope he does well in Cleveland.
2) They do not make mistakes. They just don't. Their a machine w/regard to efficiency which really is a huge advantage in collegiate sports especially , because sometimes you are competing against other programs who are all still just trying to all get on the same page at times.
3) Their well coached and confidant. I don't think enough can be said about ones self confidence. Confidence allows gifted people to do extraordinary things in life and when you make your own luck in life, confidence can be a powerful ally to have on your side.
With that said ...... Oregon has the talent to compete with Alabama IMO.
You can tell me all about Alabama's defense, Oregon's past performances with other SEC teams and why Saban is a much better coach then Kelly is .... but the bottom line is, Oregon is deep enough talent-wise to bring Alabama into the deep end of the pool and just when you think their gonna slow down, go a little faster! Million dollar question is how does Alabama react if they find themselves down two scores and in a shootout at the O.K. corral , America wants to know.
Oregon and its fan base also have a chip on their shoulders with regard to all the talk of why Alabama is better then them and would love nothing more then to knock Alabama back into the back woods! Having something to prove can make great athlete's do extraordinary things. The San Francisco Giants are a group of great athlete's who did an extraordinary thing.
Hopefully we'll get to see what happens. I know who I'll have my money on and I promise to put my emotion aside LOL.
