I must confess, there was only one moment when I had to laugh all weekend. It came last night. It is a prime example of how when you have a tough stretch there is absolutely nothing you can say that some will listen to. One thing that has historically been consistent from customers is there never ending demand for long term records. That's frankly because most sites won't do it. I post long term numbers and actually update my footall mark every week. Win or lose. I simply pointed out last night that even after a very bad stretch that we were still up YTD by 11.9 units. On my pro page I went over all the college and NFL numbers. Of course anyone can double check. The record is clean. The Triples are 4-3 in college and 6-2 in the NFL. In fact I have cashed on 26 of the last 32 NFL Triples. But what made me laugh is even with the constant chatter for long term a guy comes on here and says, "enough with the long term nonsense." Good grief. Which is it? What is important? For once and for all is it short term streaks or long term results?
We all know the bottom line is it is a totally what have you done for me lately business. Some people get the big picture. Many don't or simply won't. Some people for whatever reason stubbornly refuse to use any kind of money management and then blame everyone but themselves when they have the inevitable bad run. Nobody wants to accept any personal responsibility anymore. It's easier to deflect blame. I TOTALLY accept full responsibilty for bad runs. But I also stress non stop to use money management so you can withstand the bad stretches. That's frankly common sense. I have many clients who have embraced that practice and do fine. But there are those who are just not willing to treat it like a business. Deep down they know it, and they know who they are. I was a bookie for years, I know the drill.
Hell, one guy even accused one of my clients of being me and deflecting blame. That is ludicrous. The FACT is he is a client who has been with me for a long time now and gets it. He uses money management and wagers within his means. You know, all that boring stuff. He also keeps making money and signing back up.
Lot's of work to be done and this is not getting it accomplished. Thought I would take one more stab at it. The only lock or sure thing in this business guys is tough stretches are inevitable. You are a hero when everything is clicking and when they are not, well this is a prime example. At least at Pregame you have an open forum where you can communicate with the cappers. How many sites are like that? I'm going back to work. Good luck tonight.
