I have a couple:
1) When my teammates and I won the 2001 American Pool Players Assn. National 8-Ball Team Tournament in Las Vegas, Nv
2) I was at the game in 1972 (Munich) when the USA lost the gold for the first time in Olympic basketball.
Never realized u were a pool player ....I grew up hanging in the pool hall ....my game was "one pocket" ...use to hang with Tommy Halliday ..AKA ."Staten Island".....great one pocket player in the late 60's-70's ...he came in 2nd to Eddie Taylor in the 1967 Stardust one pocket tourney...Oh man the stories he use to tell me about Johnston City
Yea, when we wanted a change of pace we used to play one pocket or "golf", on a snooker table. I never was that good at either but fun to play. I haven't picked up a cue in over 10 years but my friends still play "golf" in the winter when we can't play it outside. I bet there aren't but a handful of people on pregame that know what your talking about when you say Johnson City but I do. The best road players in the country went there every year. The best from my neck of the woods was Minnesota Fats.
