I've spent the evening handicapping a couple races tonight, I'll review one quickly now to boost your day's bankroll and hopefully late tomorrow afternoon I'll get to a write up of the Classic and the Del Mar Handicap, which are run late in the day. The two Delmar races are in the evening on the east coast, 9:33pm and the Handicap is run after 10pm.
My daughter is about to "pop" out twins, our 1st grand children and after a day in the hospital on Friday, they sent her home to get some rest. It could be anytime but she's early at 36 weeks so they are trying to hold off as long as possible. Hopefully, I'll be around to get these posted.
Pick 1- Saratoga R10- The Alabama Stakes
This is a easy gimme with no surprises in the race. The 1-1 favorite #4 Malathaat is without question the horse to beat. He just keeps getting better and better and should have an easy time with these others. The 2nd choice, Maracujo at 7/2 loves the track but is coming back on short rest. I'm not using him at all in my exacta's. You may consider throwing in the 15-1 long shot Will's Secret at 15-1 who took a shit last race. If you draw a line thru that race, he's right there with some expected improvement and could be 2nd or 3rd best at really nice odds. He won't beat Malathaat, but should get a piece of this.
So, if Malathaat is very close to 1-1 odds or better, double your money with a win bet and save it for Delmar later and be done with it. If he's 2/5 or 3/5, screw that and play him in an exacta with #2 at 6-1 ML and #5 at 15-1 ML(with Malathaat of course).
The bet: 4 with 2/5 (it's a short field, make sure the exacta payouts pay enough for a profit).
Back tomorrow with the Delmar races when time allows. Save most of your money for Delmar, as the races are deeper and more competitive.
