Sleepy,
here's my most recent example, although I've done similar post threads before:
https://pregame.com/pregame-forums/f/nfl/1763915/today-s-sim-nfl-games-available-for-wagering
You'll notice a few things. First, I can no longer edit the very first post of the the thread. It was there I would update daily the upcoming lines. Now it's stuck on this Monday when we all lost the ability to edit. Next, if you go to page 3, you see how it no longer is color coded with winner and losers. It's organized and easy to follow BEFORE the "editing" changes were installed. You can see how sloppy and disorganized the information now is, since I've been forced to update with new posts to the thread every time I want to update my winners and losers.
As TGOS said above, some of us have been doing this for years, without problems or accusations of fudging numbers.
On a separate note, there have been times when hours or days later, I go back and realize I've made a typo or left out a word. It was nice to be able to edit, even though the post was probably long passed over as current.
But what I'm really at a loss for..... and worse case scenario - who cares if some random pregame user changes their own record, or fudges numbers, by editing their posts after the fact. The Pregame community seems to be on top of that.
And when it comes to sports that are tracked by Pregame's "Make Picks" system, and leaderboard accounting, are what matter. Not what anyone claims in the forums. For TGOS - who tracks a ton of sports of the Pregame board, Dennis Tyler with soccer, or myself currently with Bovada's Madden Sims (which you should add to the "Make Picks" section by the way) - these are our only way to post and track here.
This new feature just seems like a solution in search of a problem.
------
DELETE option - for moderation purposes, I think some mods need that - although it is waaaay overused sometimes. Esp if someone posts an opinion a moderator disagrees with - but that's a convo for another time.
But sure, for the integrity of people standing by their words and picks, I wouldn't mind if the "delete" option went away. But bottom line again, who cares if some rando on the forums (like me or anyone else) wants to delete a prevous post or thread, who cares? I had three years worth of posts and comments deleted in December when my entire account was wiped out. 3 years of content, deleted.
I know, through forum comments, the same has happened to others. Maybe thats something that tech could work on - backing up the system. But I realize its a free site so I should be saving my own work.
Thanks for asking.
