Spartan, I do not ascribe to the fallacy that those protected classes of people (race or religion based), are not immune from the scourge of racist actions.
Minorities are just as capable of being as racist as the standard conditional thinking of only white people are racist. I have lived it for the aforementioned years and witness it daily.
To paint a clearer picture there is a reason why Hate Crimes exist, as they explain the reason or motive behind the actual act of violence by a person of one race against a person of another race. Simply, a Hate Crime is a “hang on” charge and can only be charged in conjunction with the initial crime, and Hate Crime laws don’t differentiate between races.
Consider this, very recently I had occasion to interact with a 7 year old female African American girl. Upon addressing the young girl with conversation I asked for her compliance with what I was asking of her, she replied, “phuck you white bitch!”
Now I will ask, is she racist? At age 7 a cogent and persuasive argument could be made that she isn’t of the age of reason to know better and dismiss the incident. But the verbal words, standing alone, are racist words. Those words she spoke, have been learned at the knee of her mother and/or father, and I’d bet every dollar I have that they are indeed racist.
Now I certainly do not believe that every individual of any given Race is racist, but racists DO exist in EVERY race!
I’ll not clutter up your thread any further. Let’s all just celebrate that all individuals have more access to equality now now than ever before, and celebrate the life and career of # 42.
