BaseballKing: After some deliberation, we have your verdicts.
Case 1: Verdict - In Agreeance. Pitt is still finding their way in the ACC and they have certainly taken a step back, or at least not progressed, from their team last year. But they find ways to hang around in games they shouldn't (like against Duke) and have an ability to surprise. But not today. We believe that UNC will get the win and the cover, but not quite in blowout fashion.
Case 2: Verdict - Hung Jury. The line right now is Duke -4, but anything more than that is getting dicey. For the season, Duke is 8-1 SU, 7-2 ATS, including 4-1 SU ATS in league play. VA Tech is 4-5 SU, 3-6 ATS for the season and 1-4 SU, 0-4 ATS in ACC play. The number to pick out of that group is the 4-5 SU record of the Hokies this season. That occurs as a result of a recent 3 game losing streak to Pitt, Miami, FL and Boston College and puts them squarely in the category of Super Surger. Note that in last year’s defeat, VA Tech actually won the yardage battle 387-198. Much the same has been happening in Duke games this year, as despite an 8-1 SU mark, they are averaging just 404 YPG, while allowing 400 YPG. Conversely, the Hokies are averaging 381 YPG, while allowing just 345 YPG. Depending on what you can get, tread lightly.
