$1100 on Michigan +6 over Notre Dame
Bad line here by South Point as I'm not sure they factored in the recent Shea Patterson news accordingly. It's a huge upgrade at QB for the Wolverines as last year Michigan QB's threw just 9 TD's (fewest since 1975)! Michigan could have the nation's top defense in 2018 and will have an advantage at the line of scrimmage vs Notre Dame offensive line without two top 10 NFL Draft Picks. Also note that since 1978, the underdog in the UM/ND series is 24-7 ATS (17-13-1 SU). This line should've been ND -1 or so.
$1100 on Syracuse -1 over Western Michigan
I think Syracuse is underrated this year as they were close to a big break through last year. Keep in mind, the Orange only lost by 9 at LSU, 8 at NC State, 8 at Miami and 3 at Florida St. Syracuse beat Clemson, but ended up losing their last 5 games and a big reason was their QB Eric Dungey got hurt (outscored by 30 ppg last 3). This year the Orange have 14 returning starters and a healthy Dungey. This line should've been dealt at least Syracuse -3 and now (Syracuse -6) might even be a bit inflated.
$1100 on Florida State PK over Virginia Tech
I want to fade the Seminoles this year but Florida State was not given enough due in this one as this line should have been FSU -3 at a minimum. It's the first home game for new coach Willie Taggart in what could be the most hostile atmosphere in college football week 1.
$550 on Connecticut +28 over Central Florida
UCF was given too much respect here from last year's 13-0 season. This is the first game for new head coach Josh Heupel and the Knights lost a lot on the defensive side. Laying 4 TD's on the road in a conference game was too much. This line should've been closer to 21, which is where it is now.
$550 on Purdue +2 over Northwestern
Wrong team favored here as I'm selling Northwestern this year off a "fake" 10-3 season as they were the first team in NCAA history to win 3 straight OT games in consecutive weeks. Also noteworthy is the fact the Wildcats' 3-year starting QB Clayton Thorson might have to sit this game out after tearing his ACL in last year's bowl game.
$550 on Hawaii +16 over Colorado St
Per Bill Connelly's returning production rankings, the Rams rank dead last (#130) in the country with only 35% back after last year's disappointing campaign. Tough to lay more than 2 TD's in a conference opener.
