I know some customers were upset his GOY for Tuesday was released on Sunday, but Fezz was aware of the pending move and wanted to make sure clients were able to get the best number possible.
At Pregame we want to sell value. This morning offshore sportsbooks moved to 136.5 on his total release of UNDER 138.5. Most pick sellers in our industry it is about the team or the fact it is on TV. Fezzik had a GOY. He liked UNDER 138.5. This morning the line moved to 136.5 and the value was now gone. We made the decision to pull this package down.
At this time he still likes the selection, but not as a GOY release due to the current line as of this morning.
Two things I hope people learn from this (win or lose):
1) If a play is loaded early, probably for a good reason. Getting down ASAP at the best number is vital.
2) Clearly, in a sales aspect (for both Fezz and Pregame) pulling his GOY down before the other half of the country is even waking up is probably not a good move. That being said, it is just another example of how we do things different. Pretty confident 99% of the people in this industry are not pulling down a GOY from one of their top brands the morning of the game.
Good luck to everyone today
