SEMO AT UMKC
With this game the Brad Korn era starts at SEMO. The last 4 years before this Korn spent as an asst. coach at Kansas St. for his old college coach Bruce Weber. Korn has been very well received by the SEMO fan base and everyone I've talked to likes the hire. This has been a tough year to try and bring in a new system, especially at SEMO. Before this week SEMO only had 3 practices where they had at least 10 players available. It's very hard to put in a new system when you can't even put 10 players on the court to practice with. I can tell you his W/L record won't be held against him this year. The fans understand what he is up against. But one thing is a must. He must start retaining his players. The past five seasons 80% of the SEMO signees have left the program before their eligibility expired.
UMKC has two games under their belt. Two blowout wins against non DI schools, 105-35 over Culver Stockton and 138-97 over Greenville.
With all that has transpired and this being SEMO's first game (on the road) and UMKC having played two games I have to go with the home team to win this one by double digits. Everyone that has followed me for any length of time knows that SEMO is my team. Let me just say I hope I lose this one and SEMO comes away with the outright win but the handicapper in me has to put that aside.
