Just dying to start capping the NFL.. Excited for the draft Thursday!
Chiefs/Patriots: My thoughts are known on this.. LOVE New England, and line closes at 10 IMO.
Jets/Bills: The jets are in tank mode, and could be the worst team in the NFL next season. However, I am not high on Buffalo right now either, so it is hard to lay 6.5 with them. Divisional games in week 1 historically tend to be competitive, which is a plus for the underdog.
Falcons/Bears: Bears need a corner to cover the stud wideouts they face in the first month of the season, starting with Julio. I suppose they could be taking CB Lattimore from Ohio State. Hard to see this Bears team slowing Atlanta down, but then again, I do think Atlanta may have a little bit of a super bowl hangover. I do not think Glennon is the long term answer in Chicago, especially when you consider the lack of pass catching weapons he has surrounding him. He does have a good interior line, but poor tackles on the offensive line.
Jags/Texans: Maybe a small lean to the Jags plus 4.5. This defense is loaded with talent. If they go Fournette at 4, they are built similar to Houston.. poor QB play, good playmakers surrounding the QB, and a rock solid defense.
Eagles/Washington: I am down on Washington this season. The cousins and front office turmoil is not a good thing, and the Skins defensive line is very thin, as is their defense as a whole outside of a few key players.
Cardinals/Lions: Better team getting almost a field goal, so early lean to Arizona. Lions need to add an explosive threat to their offense in the draft. Arizona should be morphing into a potential under team as they look to ride DJ this season and keep Palmer healthy all season. so total seems a little high.
Raiders/Titans: Not sure if Oakland is 4.5 better then Tennessee on a neutral field, which is what the line indicates. Both offenses match up well against the other teams opposing defense. Do expect the Titans to add a WR/CB with their two first round picks.
Bucs/Dolphins: Bucs are the better team getting points, IMO. Defense came together and played very sound football last year. Dolphins have big holes at guard so Gerald McCoy can definitely take advantage of that. Miami overachieved big time last season
Ravens/Bengals: I am down on Cincinnati this season, but I would probably want a field goal to consider Baltimore. Bengals went from a good offensive line to potentially a bottom 5 offensive line in one offseason.
Steelers/Browns: Highly doubt I want any part of the Steelers laying near double digits on the road in week 1 to a divisional opponent.
Colts/Rams: Debut for young coach Sean McVay. The Rams have arguably the worst pass catching personnel in the NFL. Robert Woods could get locked down by Davis.. so don't see how the Rams attack the rest of the Colts poor corners. The Colts OLine actually began to gel last season a little bit, but they still need improvement from the RG/RT spot.
Seahawks/Packers: I have the Packers as a very slightly better team then Seattle, and a strong HFA. Minus 3 seems cheap. Capers has done a great job on Russell Wilson recently.
Panthers/49ers: I liked the Shanahan hire, but hate the SF Personnel. They have a lot of questionable fits into their new coaching staffs schemes. Hard to back this team. Carolina surely looking forward to a bounce back season.. they do need to add a bellcow RB in this years draft to take pressure off Cam.
Giants/Cowboys: Giants defense does not get pushed around in the trenches, and have Jenkins to cover Dez. Dallas secondary can not cover the Giants wideouts. Divisional dog, lean the Giants. Only concern is Giants awful play on the road last season offensively.
Saints/Vikings: Not many strong thoughts on this, despite the Vikings being the team I know the best. -3.5 to -4 seems right at the moment.
Chargers/Broncos: Chargers are gonna be a fesity dog team this season. Love the playmaking talent on this team, and they have some real legit cornerstone pieces on defense. Oline is a big weakness, which is not a good thing at Denver, but Rivers has played this team tough.
