The Spurs went out and got Lamarcus Aldridge, plus the signed David West and Manu Ginobili will be back. David West signed for about 10 million less than he was gonna get at Indiana and to see players that want to win rather than worry about dollars is refreshing.
The Spurs have also locked up Leonard and their only sacrifice was the defense that Splitter would play. Their odds to win the title before all this happened was at 10/1 and now it is down to 4/1. Is there any value left on betting the Spurs?
Steve feels there is still value on betting them. They have gotten better, while the Clippers will be worse without Jordan and he doesn't feel that Golden state can be better than last year. He feels they are the clear cut best team in the NBA.
Scott does feel that their one negative is that they don't have depth like they want to and Andy feels the same way, but he doesn't like the 4/1 odds and that is mainly because they don't always look for home court advantage in the playoffs. It may be wise to wait till mid season and you can get better odds on them . He does feel that they are the best team in the west.
Steve feels that the 4/1 will be long gone by the time the season starts and then when we get halfway you would only get like 5-2 instead of 7/2.
Who should the Spurs fear in the West outside of Golden State? Andy feels that it could be Golden State and then the 3 teams from Texas as the top 4 teams in the West.
