The only time the Badgers played a REAL defense....

They only had 5 penalties; and they turned the ball over ZERO times, but they held the ball for JUST 23 minutes and they lost 34-24 to Michigan State.......

The Spartans also racked up 444 yards of total offense and they actually turned the ball over 3 times and held the ball for 36 minutes!!!!!! How did Sparty Win...by 10? I

Wisconsin's defense is NOT as good as you think!

Let's talk about this Spartan Game:

The Spartans ran the ball 45 times on the Badger defense. They did that because that COULD. And this fact (even though it was for 3.9 yards per carry) had the effect of bringing the entire Badger defense toward the line of scrimmage. This led to a 20-29 passing performance from Cousins (Sparty QB).

Ohio State is just as strongas Sparty in the running game, and OSU is more talented in the passing game than Sparty. THE KEY TO CONTROLLING WISCONSIN IS TO MEET THEM WITH A BALANCED OFFENSE.

The funny thing about Wisconsin recruiting is that they brag about locking up 90% of their in-state recruits. Ultimately, this is what killls them when they face COMPLETE nationally recruited programs.Blaanced attacks tend to give them fits!

I think the Wisky defense is completely overrated at this point (with regard to this matchup)

They lost Schofield. Magaros, and McFadden from the 2009 defense. Those are the leaders in tackles, Tackles for loss, and interceptions. They also had to replace both tackles on defense. The past Badger defenses had held their last 10 opponents to less than 100 yards rushing. But without these players, the results have been drastically different.....

In 2010 they aren't holding people below 100 yards rushing:

Sparty ran for 175 yards

Minny ran for 96

Arizona State ran for 169 yards

UNLV ran for 112

Something isn't right at Camp Randall.

I don't care where this game is being played. The Badger passing game is a mess and OSU has the balance to contain that offense. So this is why I'm trying to show you that the Badger defense is where we need to look. The edge in this wager, and the reason why this line should be closer to a touchdown, is that the Wisconsin defense is using smoke and mirrors.
