Rating: 1-star
Pick: BOS Jaylen Brown Under 25.5 Points
Line: -122
Brown feasted in Game 1, scoring 31 points. However, I think the market is overreacting to this one data point. Brown has scored 26+ points in only 29 out of 76 total games played this year (38%), including twice in 6 games so far this playoffs. The Cavaliers' defense is a lot better than they showed in Game 1. As we expected after a grueling Game 7 series, the Cavs fell behind early and let go of the rope early, giving up 120 points in Game 1. However, over the course of the season, they ranked 6th in total defense and 10th in limiting points to opponent SGs and SFs combined. The Celtics have many different ways to attack, and I expect Tatum and Holiday to assert themselves as a bigger part of this offense in Game 2.
