This line continues to push toward Drake with less optimism that Norchad Omier will be able to play for Miami. He is their best interior scorer, and their only effective rebounder. He is only 6-7, but he is the biggest player on the floor for Miami, who will have to be heavily reliant on outside shooting with him out or hobbled. Drake defends the arc well, and also has a big man in Darnell Brodie who will be a tough matchup if Omier isn’t playing. If Omier is out of the lineup, it could cause Larranaga to adjust how it defends Penn – as well as quite frankly all the Drake perimeter players – during ball screens.
Drake is a team of grown men. The coaches son, Tucker DeVries, is 20, and every other starter is 24 or 25 years old.
Miami has failed to cover their last 4 games by an average of 7.5 points per game. Meanwhile Drake is brimming with confidence coming off a blowout win as underdogs against Bradley in the MVC final.
