We use 3 NBA Models, all developed differently to pick different ways. They help us SPOT Potential Totals and all 3 have agreed that this number is too low. It is not the only thing we use but it is a starting point. We also use techniques that as far as I know have not yet been discovered by others including books. While these are not fail proof techniques they have been very profitable over the last few years. We also use offensive and defensive efficiency numbers, pace, projected pace, venue trends, league and division trends, injuries, along with other more "Standard" Handicapping Principles to get our final number.
No doubt that these teams have been solid Over squads this season and both have good OE and overall better than average pace. But Oddsmakers have over-stated this number and early bettors have bought into it. The first meeting featured and posted number of 230 so this is a large leap we are seeing in the betting number. All 3 Models think it is TOO high and for other reasons including the fact that the Jazz are 4-1 UNDER last 5 at this court. Play 3*UNDER at your best number.
