Im expecting a bounce back performance tonight from the Knights. Being in the building last night and watching the game closely, it didn’t seem like they were into it at all. Seattle punched them in the mouth. Great job coming back from 2-0 down to tie the game in the first period, but after that, they were a dead team. I think with Logan Thompson in net tonight, the Knights bounce back. Part of me feels like late in that game they chalked it up to a loss knowing they had a game tonight. It’s only natural for players to do that on back to backs. Vegas has a nice edge here over Vancouver. First its goaltending. Logan Thompson has been elite for the Knights while Spencer Martin gets the start for the Canucks and despite his nice W-L record, he has a -1.2 Goals Saved Above Expected and a Goals Against Average of 3.42. In 7 starts, he has allowed 3+ goals in 6 of them. 4+ in 4 starts. It would shock me to see VGK score less than 3 tonight. Vegas is still one of the top teams in all of hockey as far as Expected Goal Percentage, Shots and Goals per 60. The Canucks rank 27th in Expected Goal Percentage in 5v5 situations and 26th in unblocked shots percentage. VGK erases the loss last night and picks up a nice win tonight.
