What an impressive performance last week from the Cougars. They shut down ECU en route to a 42-3 win. We know how elite this offense is, but that defensive performance was something out of last years playbook. Can they duplicate it here against a Tulsa team that’s capable of scoring as well? Houston still has an outside shot at making the conference championship game should UCF get upset by South Florida. Even if UCF wins, if they dont win big and Houston does, would it be enough to propel the Cougars over UCF in the final rankings? Probably not, but a blowout win over ECU last week coupled with another blowout winner in this game could convince some people and the computers as well. This will be the final home game for Houston as a member of the American Athletic Conference. I think they make a statement as they get ready to depart for the Big 12.
