Chris Bassitt makes his return to Oakland for the first time as a visitor. In his career in Oakland while pitching for the A’s, Bassitt has a 2.44 ERA. I expect him to do well in a place he is comfortable. Theres also his slow pace which tends to lull batters to sleep. Taking on the lowest scoring home team in baseball (3.04 runs per game) I think Bassitt has a solid day and limits the scoring. Then there’s Cole Irvin. While he may be the best A’s pitcher right now, he has allowed 21 runs in his last 4 starts combined. 29 hits in 24 innings. Stretching back further, he’s allowed 32 runs in his last 7 starts. The Mets come into the game after an off day, rested and ready to extend their lead over the Braves in the NL East.
