I have enormous respect for the Appalachian State program. I was hoping when the AD spot came back open at Missouri that App State Athletic director Doug Gillin would take the position. He was at Mizzou as he worked his way up the chain and he is as solid and sharp as they come. Under his guidance I have zero doubt this program will continue to flourish. Now we come to this game Thursday night. I expect to see a lot of points here with two offenses that are more than capable. Likely to be the polar opposite of last season when these two got engaged in a low scoring slug fest. I trust the Mountaineers more here to take care of the ball and Kidd Brewer stadium should be electric for this prime time battle. I am not going to overthink this one. I can see the Herd becoming one of those dreaded trendy plays catching the TD on the road but I am not going for it. I say App State prevails by double digits here pulling away late. That was a rough one to digest last week for the Herd and there could easily be some hangover here. I actually do like the Mountaineers here at home a lot. I'm going Triple.
As always guys the approach remains the same. It is one game in a long season. I don't over hype or tout games. Please hit this like all the triples. Nothing more or less. Many sincere thanks as always and best of luck to each of us. Enjoy the game. Steve
