Man I do like this match up a lot. Although I continue to witness it year after year, well literally decade after decade there are certain traits Joe Public bettor just stubbornly never seems to deviate from. I suppose human nature is at the root of it all. People take most into account with sports betting what they have most recently witnessed. In this case a lackluster preseason by the defending champs. Bettors are stumbling all over themselves to get down on their "sharp" play on the Falcons. Good grief I just could not disagree more. With that being said I am going to bypass the spread here and take the money line. It's opening night and as my clients remember, last season there were a lot of twilight zone like endings. I do not usually play the money line with my favorites but I am here. Nick Foles will have his supporting cast around him and if you think this Eagles team in their home opener will in any way resemble the preseason Eagles well you are in for a surprise. No knock on the Falcons and they are clearly an obvious contender, again. But they have all the markings here of the trendy pick and my long term clients know I loathe trendy picks. I booked too long as saw too many people follow those selections like cattle to the slaughterhouse. Frankly I have visited with some people I consider square as a cube and they overwhelmingly like the Falcons here. That speaks volumes to me. The think the Eagles can run a balanced attack here and win the time of possession. Do I wish Foles had Jefferey, of course as the more weapons the better. As it is, I like the defending champs here at home to come up big enough. Triple Star on the Eagles.
