As I said last night I'll probably be on the Reds, too - just sharing for those only on today. Anyhow, the Nationals had last night off while the Phillies were playing a high-intensity game with the Yankees. All teams that play the Yankees at home get "up" - especially those that don't see them often. Nola beat these guys last week and it's just not easy to beat a team twice in row, better yet back-to-back. In fact the Phillies won two of three v/the Nats last week, so Washington does't need any additional motivation. Nor does Roark, who has hit pretty hard in that series and as you know I always like to go the other way in the rematch games, so we've got that on both sides. Aside from Herrera hitting him well, the Philadelphia sticks hadn't done much with Roark prior to that game, so it's not like they've got a great track record with Roark. The Phillies' pen hasn't been something we want our money on, and TBH the Nats' pen has faltered a bit lately, but with Kelvin Herrera they should be light years' better, although he DID screw us last week. That's no reason to NOT bet on a team going forward, it's where the value is - and it's with Washington as an underdog.
