I'm playing KC on the run-line (2* ANNIHILATOR, +1.5 runs) While I like the Royals' chances of winning this one "outright," in this case, I'm willing to lay the reasonable price to get the extra +1.5 runs to work with. The Royals are desperate to get back on track. Despite not winning, Hammel has been relatively solid of late. He's gone more than five innings in six straight starts, going at least six complete in five of those, including each of the last three. Last time out, he allowed two earned runs through 7 1/3 innings. In fact, over his last five starts he's allowed just 10 combined earned runs. He already beat Hamels earlier, at Texas. Also, Hamels' last start here at KC was a 1-run game. Expect AT LEAST a "run-line cover" for the home team.
