I'm playing on ST. LOUIS (2* VIOLATOR). While he wasn't his best last time out, Flaherty still has a solid 3.20 ERA and 1.17 WHIP through seven starts, striking out more than a batter per inning. Lyles, on the other hand, has a 4.70 ERA on the season. Last time out, he gave up eight runs on 11 hits, lasting only 4 1/3 innings. The Cards are 3-0 when Lyles has started against them, beating him in a Padres, Rockies and an Astros uniform. The Cards are 7-2 their last nine as a host of the Padres. Expect them to bounce back from yesterday's loss at Cincinnati, starting the homestand off with a victory.
