Analysis
We cashed with the Cardinals Monday night on the run line as they blanked the Royals 6-0. I am going right back to the Cards here Tuesday. Frankly last night I felt like the Cardinals were an easy play, hindsight being what it is I should have graded it higher. The Royals are just basically adrift right now. There are two teams I follow closer than any other clubs and it is these two. At the moment there is no realistic or logical reason to back Kansas City here. Of course we know how logic and reason can at times be thrown out the window in sports capping. But Jason Hammel at the moment has all the appearances of being a glorified BP pitcher. He has had one good start this season. One. The guy is capable but has done nothing of late to support any confidence in him. He struggles with his location and seems a yard short on his fast ball. Has all the appearances of a journeyman pitcher winding down his career on a bad team, one of the few that truth be told he can still have a slot in the rotation. Bottom line is the way the Cardinals seem to be warming up with the bats it is just a lousy spot to trust Kansas City. On the flip side we have young Luke Weaver who appears to be finding his groove. I thought he was strong his last outing against the Phillies and pitched in some tough luck. He is facing a team that is simply bad right now. No other way to put it. Dayton Moore has his hands full with this rebuilding project. Junis has potential but overall this staff is a dumpster fire. And to compound things the pen is a shell of it's former self. Herrera can be solid but in all honesty does not get many save opportunities. This club, only a couple of years past two straight world series appearances and one ring, resembles those teams in no way once you get past the uniforms. They have won 14 games the entire season. Only reason they are not even more games out of the top spot is the state of the division. The leader is hovering around the .500 mark for gods sake. I could go on and on but clearly I like the Cardinals here to keep rubbing salt in the Royals wounds. I'm going double here on the Cards. I am not paying the crazy chalk but will go money line.

Many sincere thanks as always and best of luck to all of us. Enjoy the game.
