I'm playing on MIAMI. The Marlins were able to score yesterday, despite facing a previously red hot Madison Bumgarner. This afternoon's task figures to be considerably easier. Cain, who hasn't started since the end of July, hasn't won a game since the middle of May. During that span, he's made 14 appearances, 12 of them starts. His record is 0-8. For the season, he's 3-9 with a 5.22 ERA and 1.68 WHIP. That includes an 0-6 record to go along with a terrible 7.69 ERA and 1.99 WHIP on the road. Yikes. He's also 0-3 with a 6.63 ERA when pitching during the day. By comparison, Urena is 4-1 with a stellar 2.56 ERA (1.01 WHIP) when pitching during the day. Opposing batters are hitting a mere .174 against him in those games. The Marlins hit far better against right-handers than do the Giants. The Marlins bullpen has also been far superior at home than the Giants' bullpen has been on the road. All things considered, the price could easily be higher. Expect the Marlins to close the successful homestand with a victory.
