I'm on the Rangers here today...Many reasons why the Rangers are a good bet..Let's start with how the Rangers have been playing..Winners of 6 of 7 and the bats have been very good for the Rangers..They have scored 5+ runs in 5 of those 7 games, including 10 runs yesterday...Texas will go with Martin Perez..He hasn't had the greatest year, but his last start was one of his best starts..He hit all his sports and his velocity was very good..He looked like a different pitcher last game from games past..That game was on the road and against the Nats...So his confidence should be high and coming back home will be good for him...He hasn't won here since May 18th...So he will be feeling confident looking to get a win on his home turf....Mariners on the other hand have a few issues...They've lost 5 of the last 7 games and have given up a ton of runs..They allowed a total of 40 runs in 4 games..Yes 40 runs !!...They get Gallardo on the mound today with his 6.11 ERA and WHIP of 1.58....He avg 3.25 runs per game on the road, but his innings pitched are just 5.2 innings...He can be a real walk machine and HR machine...K's are avg at about 4 or 5 a game which is fine...He does give up hits however and is often in jams he can't get out of because of the walks and HR's...A trend with him is after a large vlume pitching amount the game before, he tends to get rocked the next game...Well that's the case here as he tossed 102 pitches in his last game....He has given up 3,5 9 runs after the last three games he pitched 100+ pitches...It's trend, but one that should be noted...Also the Mariners have to deal with a light bullpen and Segura is OUT (15 Day-DL)....So it's a combo of things here that say the Mariners...Perez has seen Seattle this season and did well....Gallardo has seen the Rangers and did well.....We now flip flop the venues and the current state of how those teams were playing and how the pitchers pitched at that time...Not a revenge situation, but if we had one, this would be a absolute GOM wager and a strong one at that....I see this one ending ugly if Perez is on point like his last game..I think he will be sharp enough here..Total sits at 11...I say Texas gets 7 or 8 runs here and the Mariners struggle to get 4...Easy call for me today...Rangers Roll !!!
