Of the 107 starting pitchers who qualify for my Pitcher Power Ratings by either having made 10 starts or pitched at least 50 innings, Washington's Max Scherzer ranks # 2.  He has been brilliant through his first 11 starts with a 2.56 ERA and 0.89 WHIP while averaging 7.0 innings per start and with a 5.6-1 strikeout to walk ratio.  The Dodgers' McCarthy is also pitching well, having made 9 starts with a 3.37 ERA and 1.16 WHIP.  He is averaging just 5.6 innings per start but does have a 3.6-1 strikeout to walk ratio.  In their combined 20 starts the Dodgers and Nationals have played 11 UNDERs and 7 OVERs with 2 PUSHes.  Over their past 10 games my models rate both offenses as slightly below average which further supports a play on UNDER 7 1/2.  There are other stats that point to this being between a 57% and 59% UNDER situation and that's the way I have played this matchup tonight.
