Preseason Play of the Day
#411/412 3* OVER 38.5 Minnesota/Seattle
Both teams won by identical 17-16 finals last week giving us
value here.
The Vikings who averaged 25 ppg on offense LY (excluding HOF game) did only put
up 274 yards last week BUT Cincinnati had a 12:24 1Q drive meaning the Vikings
had only 1 yard of offense in the 1Q. Remember Minnesota also lost at home to
Seattle in last years Wildcard game. I also like the prep they did for this
game: (1. Pumping up the volume
With the Seahawks known for having one of the loudest crowds at
CenturyLink Field, the Vikings used a sideline speaker to pump crowd noise into
Tuesday’s practice. The Vikings primarily
cranked up the volume when the first-team offense was on the field, especially
during red zone drills. Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater said after practice
that the crowd noise gives players a feel for what a hostile environment will
be like. 3. Diving deeper The
Vikings combined some elements of a training camp practice with one that will
be more similar to the preparation work they will do when the regular season
begins next month. Minnesota took some reps with show teams using carded
plays on Tuesday to provide a glimpse of some of the looks the Vikings could
see from the Seahawks offense and defense on Thursday)
Meanwhile the Seattle offense NEVER
gets cheated at home as they have averaged 33 ppg the L3Y when hosting a
preseason game NEVER scoring under 22 points. The Seahawks score LW is also
misleading as they totaled 358 yards of offense and will play their starters
into the 2Q
