Now in his second season at Oakland HC Jack DelRio has his team headed in the right direction. The Raiders had Wednesday off and came back rested Thursday with a spirited practice. Oakland starters will play about 1Q (a lot for a game #1) and DelRio has talked about being a quick-start team. There is a battle for the #2 & #3 QB spot which is a positive and #2 Matt McGloin has 6 NFL starts to his credit while having excellent preseason numbers ( 895 yards, 64%, 8-2 ratio) while rookie Connor Cook has impressed of late.DelRio is 23-17 (58%) SU and 23-15-1 (61%) ATS in the preseason and wants to win every game.
Arizona will start Carson Palmer (about 10-12 plays) but will NOT play their #2 QB Drew Stanton to let the others get work. The others are Matt Barkley who joined the Cardinals last September and has played "like a yo-yo" in his first training camp here along with rookie Jake Coker. The Cardinals which have lost their last 3 preseason home games by 8 ppg despite being a favorite in each do not need a feel good win for the team or the fans and it will show.
