I'm backing the LA Angels on Tuesday night. The Halos won an important contest last night in their series opener with the Indians. LAA fell behind 3-0 and looked on their way to their 7th straight loss before their bats finally woke up. I expect a second straight win tonight. LAA's Matt Shoemaker has pitched well in his last five starts, posting a 1.78 ERA & 1.22 WHIP, while allowing just two HRs in his last 30 1/3 IP. He's punched-out 17 batters in his last 13 IP, while allowing just nine base runners. Tonight, "Shoe" faces a Cleveland lineup averaging just 2.7 rpg in their last 26 (9-17) against starting pitchers who average at least five strikeouts per start. The Angels enter on a 9-2 run in Shoemaker's last 11 starts as a favorite up to -150. They're also on a 40-15, second half of the season run, against teams with a losing record over the last two seasons, while averaging 5.6 rpg. The Halos have taken care of business down the stretch against teams they're supposed to handle and I expect more of the same in this one. I'm backing the Angels, my Knockout release on Tuesday.
