The St. Louis Rams will look to even their record at 6-6 this afternoon when they battle the San Francisco 49ers at Candlestick Park. Today's meeting between the two NFC West rivals is scheduled to kickoff at 4:05pm ET; the game will be broadcast live on FOX. The Rams second season under Jeff Fisher has been a mixed bag, with the team sitting at 5-6 through 11 games, but things are starting to look up in the Lou.

St. Louis has won its last two games and did so in dramatic fashion, smacking the Colts 38-8 in Indianapolis and drubbing the Bears 42-21 at the Edward Jones Dome last weekend.

Surprisingly, the Rams offense has shown some real signs of life since the season ending injury to quarterback Sam Bradford as it is averaging 33.7 points per game in the team's last three outings.

Rookie Tavon Austin is developing into the spark club officials hoped he would be when they drafted him in the first round. Austin has four catches for 177 yards and two touchdowns and two carries for 69 yards and one score in the Rams last two games.

Despite the Rams improvement, they are not generating much respect in today's showdown with the Niners.

The reason is fairly obvious with San Francisco having won seven of the last 10 meetings between these two teams, including its 35-11 victory over the Rams at the Edward Jones Dome on September 26th.

The 49ers do have two losses at home this season, though, and they had dropped back to back games prior to their Monday night drubbing of the Redskins.

St. Louis has performed well of the road of late too, beating Houston and Indy while losing 15-30 at Carolina. The Rams did out-gain the Panthers in that contest, though, despite losing Bradford and finishing -2 in turnover margin.

Notable Trends: The Rams are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games as a road dog with a total between 41.5 and 44 points.
