SEC College Football Odds Georgia vs Vanderbilt

Mark Richt's Georgia Bulldogs have no time for wound licking following last weekend's home loss to Missouri as they will head to Nashville this weekend for a meeting with another division rival in Vanderbilt. Saturday's showdown between the Bulldogs and Commodores is scheduled to kickoff at 12:00pm ET at Vanderbilt Stadium; it will be broadcast live on CBS. The latest SEC College Football Odds from 5Dimes have Georgia listed as a -7.5 against the spread road favorite. The Over/Under in this weekend's game is set at 61 points.

Both Georgia and Vanderbilt had high hopes for this season, but those positive expectations have dimmed dramatically over the last two weeks. Granted, the Bulldogs are still in the SEC East title chase, but they can forget about a possible BCS National Championship appearance after last weekend's loss to Missouri.

At 4-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play Mark Richt's squad is tied with Florida and South Carolina and looking up at the aforementioned Tigers, who are 6-0 on the season and 2-0 in SEC action.

The Bulldogs just need to focus on getting healthy at this juncture, though. Georgia was without its top two running backs as well as its top receiving targets against Mizzou and the 41-26 outcome reflected as much.

Nonetheless, Vanderbilt may be just what the doctor ordered for Aaron Murray and company as it looks nowhere near the team that finished last season on a 7-0 run.

The Commodores have been tough on opponents like Austin Peay, Massachusetts, and UAB, outscoring those teams 114-34, but they are 0-3 against real competition.

Vanderbilt lost its season opener against Mississippi 35-39 and it fell 25-35 in a week three battle at South Carolina, but its biggest humiliation came on October 5th when it hosted Missouri. The Tigers blasted the Commodores 51-28 as they passed for 278 yards and rushed for 245.

Georgia's offense will be short handed again this weekend, but it still has enough firepower to thwart the Commodores. Despite all of their injury issues, the Bulldogs produced 26 first downs and 454 yards in last Saturday's loss to Mizzou.

Georgia, which has scored a total of 158 points in its last four meetings with Vanderbilt (39.5 ppg), should post similar numbers against James Franklin's beleaguered squad on Saturday.

SEC College Football Odds Georgia vs Vanderbilt:

Georgia Bulldogs -7.5 (-110), Over 61 (-110), -300 (Moneyline)

Vanderbilt Commodores +7.5 (-110), Under 61 (-110), +250 (Moneyline)
