Saturday Night Baseball Arizona Diamondbacks vs San Francisco Giants Betting Odds Free Pick

Saturday baseball and I will have a Pick in the game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the San Francisco Giants, which will be played at AT&T Park in San Francisco. First pitch is scheduled for a 7:15 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised on FOX.

Betting Odds

Diamondbacks              +135
Giants                            -145

Over/ Under: 7.5 U -125

Last night the DBacks out hit the Giants 11-2 and they made a lone run that they scored in the 2nd inning stand up all game in their 1-0 win in the opener of this series. The win snapped a 4 game slide for the DBacks, who are in 4th place in the NL West with a 28-32 record. The Giants had a decent road trip as they went 4-3 on it, but they couldn't sustain that in their first game back vs Arizona last night. The loss denotes their 6th straight home loss. The Giants are still just 2.5 games behind the Dodgers in the NL West. Arizona ranks 3rd in scoring (4.58 rpg), while on the mound they are 28th in ERA (4.38). The Giants come in ranked 19th in scoring (4.13 rpg), while on the mound they are 12th in ERA (3.76).

Trends for this game include:  The Diamondbacks are 8-3 in their last 11 games as a road underdog of +110 to +150, but just 12-39 in their last 51 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 9-19 in their last 28 after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game. The Giants are 13-3 in their last 16 during game 2 of a series and 21-10 in Vogelsong's last 31 starts as a home favorite, but 0-6 in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

Getting the ball for the Diamondbacks tonight will be Josh Collmenter who is 3-6 with a 5.24 ERA in 12 starts this year, while on the road he has gone 2-1 with a 3.67 ERA. Josh has faced the Giants twice this year and he is 1-1 with a 2.63 ERA in those starts.

Taking the hill for San Francisco tonight will be Ryan Vogelsong who has gone 4-4 with a 4.19 ERA as a starter this year overall, while at home he is 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA in 5 games (4 starts) for the year. Ryan is 3-7 with a 4.85 ERA in 23 games (16 starts) in his career vs the Diamondbacks.

Pick: Ryan Vogelsong is not a great starter and he has bad numbers vs DBacks, but he is much better than Collmenter and he does pitch well at home. This is an important game for the Giants as they look to end their losing ways at home and the Diamondbacks are just 12-16 on the road. I look for the Giants to Bounce back with a solid win tonight.
