Analysis: Losses once piled up for Kyle Lohse earlier in the season. Now he's working on another long undefeated streak. The Milwaukee Brewers hope Lohse can extend that run while winning his third straight start Saturday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field. Lohse (5-6, 3.47 ERA) is 4-0 with a 2.37 ERA in his last eight starts and hasn't lost since an 8-6 defeat at Minnesota on May 30. He's plenty familiar with long unbeaten stints, going 15 starts without a loss for St. Louis at one point last year and 10 starts a year earlier. Milwaukee (37-55) supplied the right-hander with an average of 2.6 runs of support as he went 1-6 in his first 10 starts. But the Brewers are backing him with 5.3 runs per game over his unbeaten run. He also received some spectacular defensive help to preserve his latest victory as Carlos Gomez robbed what would have been the go-ahead home run for the final out in a 4-3 win over Cincinnati on Monday. Lohse gave up nine hits - the most he's allowed in 11 starts - but limited the damage to three runs over 6 2-3 innings for his seventh quality start in eight games. Rickie Weeks played in his 1,000th career game with the franchise Friday. He sits two RBIs shy of 400.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are admittedly cutting corners in an attempt to change their fortune. After being swept by the rival Los Angeles Dodgers, the Diamondbacks elected to skip batting practice prior to the first two contests of the four-game set the versus Milwaukee Brewers. With two victories under its belt, National League West-leading Arizona may continue the trend Saturday when it faces the Brewers. Although a couple of the Diamondbacks admitted that the rest did them some good, the club mustered only four hits in the 2-1 triumph Friday. Paul Goldschmidt drove in a run on a groundout and also doubled, improving to 14 for 32 (.438) during a nine-game hitting streak. He's also 8 for 16 with six RBIs in five games against the Brewers this season. Arizona scheduled starter Randall Delgado (1-3, 3.82) looks to bounce back from his third loss in four starts after giving up a career-high 11 hits and three runs over six innings of a 6-1 defeat to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday. He didn't receive a run of support in any of his losses this season.

Pick: Really have to go with the Under in this one. These two starters have been involved in some low scoring games this year. The Under is 14-4 in Kyle's 18 starts this year, with an average of just 6.5 rpg being scored. Kyle has allowed 1 ER or less in his last 4 road starts and those games have all gone Under, with an average of just 4.8 rpg being scored. Let's also note that he has a 1.02 ERA in his last 3 starts vs Arizona. Randal Delgado has made just 5 starts on the year, but 4 of those 5 games have gone Under, with an average of 5.8 rpg being scored. Dating back to last year, Randal hasn't allowed more than 3 ER's in his last 8 starts and he has the advantage of having never faced the Brewers. Both offenses are struggling as Milwaukee has put up just 2.4 rpg in their last 5 games, while Arizona has averaged just 2.8 in their last 5 games. This one should be an easy Under.
