Jeff Tedford had a nice run at California but he was let go at the conclusion of last season as the team tallied just 15 wins between 2010 and 2012. Taking Tedford's place is former Louisiana Tech front man Sonny Dykes. Dykes led the Bulldogs to 17 wins over the last two seasons and, like his father, Spike, he knows how to build an offense (La Tech averaged over 51 points per game last year). That said, it may take him a year or two to get things off the ground in Berkeley. The Golden Bears, who are lined at +75000 in the latest BCS Championship Odds, have just 11 starters back and their road schedule includes games at Oregon, UCLA, Washington, and Stanford. The home slate in none too kind either with Ohio State, Oregon State, Arizona, and USC all visiting California Memorial Stadium. So it comes as no surprise that Cal's 2013 regular season win total is set at four games and the Under is favored at -140 odds.

The Golden Nugget is also down on Dykes chances of getting Cal turned around this season. The Vegas odds makers released its College Football Games of the Year in early June and it has the Golden Bears listed as a double digit underdog in seven of their eight lined games.
