The 2014 NFL Draft First Round begins on Thursday night from Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The 2014 NFL Draft Start Time is set for 8:00 p.m. and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Only the first round will be on television for Thursday with the later rounds coming on Friday and Saturday.
The NFL Draft has grown from a little-covered event to one of the biggest events on the NFL calendar. The draft used to be held on Saturday morning but because of the popularity it's been moved to prime time on Thursday night. Only the first round will be televised tonight with the second round picking up Friday night.
Jadeveon Clowney is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in this draft, but there have been rumors floating around that the Houston Texans are open to trading the top overall pick. The NFL Draft is routinely done in late April, but this year had to be moved to May because of scheduling problems with Radio City Music Hall. Now the NFL is looking to keep the Draft in the month of May.
Both the St. Louis Rams and New York Jets have the most overall picks in this year's draft with 12 selections. The team with the least amount of picks are the Indianapolis Colts with five selections. Listed below is the entire first round of the NFL Draft, but like many drafts in the past, expect there to be trades coming out of this draft as teams look to move up to get the player they want. Both the Washington Redskins, who would have picked second, and the Indianapolis Colts, who would have had a later pick in the first round, traded their picks away. The Redskins' pick helped them acquire Robert Griffin III while the Colts traded their first rounder to acquire Trent Richardson from the Cleveland Browns.
This year, there will be a record 98 underclassmen in the NFL Draft.
