The Michigan State Spartans take on the Kansas Jayhawks tonight in college basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 10 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the college basketball betting odds for the game have the Jayhawks favored to pick up the victory in this one.

Couple of great programs in this one, many people are talking about the Champions Classic being a potential preview to the Final Four. Both Michigan State and Kansas have very talented teams and this game should be an excellent one to follow Kentucky taking on Duke.

Michigan State is an excellent rebounding team, but Kansas will certainly look to pound the glass as well. The Jayhawks want to get the ball inside to Perry Ellis, he should be able to make an impact down on the blocks against Michigan State. The Spartans do have a good mix of veteran guys and youngsters on the front line, both Matt Costello and Deyonta Davis will be counted on to have big games.

Denzel Valentine can rebound the basketball as well; he is on the short list of national player of the year candidates for many. Valentine is in a rare breed of point-forward players that can play with the basketball in his hands despite his size. He can step out and drill a triple, battle down on the blocks and run the floor.

His matchup with Frank Mason III at the point position is going to be key. Mason is one of the more underrated point guards in the country and he is a great leader at running the Jayhawks.

This should be an excellent game and a great follow to the Duke/Kentucky tilt.
