NBA Playoff Betting Odds Los Angeles Clippers vs Houston Rockets Game 2 Free Pick

The NBA Playoffs continue on Wednesday night and we will see the Los Angeles Clippers travel take on the Houston Rockets in game 2 of their best-of-seven series from the Toyota Cetnter in Houston, Texas. Free Pick to follow. The game has a start time of 9:30 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on TNT. Current Vegas betting odds have Houston listed as 7 point favorites, while the total is set at 214.

Analysis: The Los Angeles Clippers came into the playoffs as the number 3 seed and after taking down the spurs in round 1, they went on the road and took out the Rockets in game 1 and did so without the services of Chris Paul.  It is a bit surprising considering that the Rockets were the healthy and more rested team, while the Clippers were tired and shorthanded. The Clippers are now 29-16 on the road this year. LA Has gone 14-3-1 ATS in their last 18 road games, but just 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. win. The Clippers have scored 106.9 ppg on 47.4% shooting overall and 37.4% from long range on the road this year. Defensively they have struggled away from home, allowing 102.1 ppg on 45.2% shooting overall and 36.5% shooting from long range.

The Houston Rockets had a rather easy time in their first round matchup vs Dallas and they came into this series rested and healthy, but still the lost game 1 to a shorthanded Clippers squad. That may really be a sign of just how bad Dallas was. Houston is now 33-12 at home for the year. Houston has gone 13-4 ATS in their last 17 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game and 16-6 ATS in their last 22 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. The Rockets have scored 104.0 ppg on 44.2% shooting overall and 35.3% from long range at home for the year. Defensively they have been decent at home as they have allowed 98.6 ppg on 45.4% shooting overall and 29.4% shooting from long range.

Pick: I will go with the Under in this game. I went with it in game 1 and it was on pace for the under till the 4th quarter. I see it staying on pace all game long here, specially if Houston gets up, which i feel they will. The Cliipers took game 1, so they really accomplished what they set out to do and if they fall behind I can see them sitting some players, especially Chris Paul, who may not even play anyway. The Clippers allowed just 101 points in game one and the Rockets have allowed just 98.6 ppg at home for the year. I can see the final score being under 210 points in this one.
