Sunday NBA Betting Odds Oklahoma City Thunder vs Phoenix Suns Free Pick

Sunday night NBA and we will see the Oklahoma City Thunder travel to US Airways Center to take on the Phoenix Suns. The game has a start time of 9:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised Locally. Current Vegas betting odds have the Suns listed as 6.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 213.5.

Analysis: The Thunder are starting to play good ball as they have won 6 of their last 8 games, but we also note that those 6 wins were at home, while the two losses have come on the road, where they have gone just 14-22 on the year. The Thunder are 41-31 on the year and currently have a 3 game lead over the New Orleans Pelicans for the 8th and final playoff spot in the West. OKC has gone 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games playing on 0 days rest, but just 6-16 ATS in their last 22 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Thunder have been a good offensive team this year, ranking 8th in scoring (103.4 ppg), 18th in shooting, 25th in 3 point shooting and 10th in FT shooting. Defensively the Thunder have been average this year, ranking 21st in points allowed (101.1 ppg), 2nd in defensive FG% and 13th in 3 point defense.

The Phoenix Suns come having lost their last 2 games in a row, which drops them to 3.5 games behind the Thunder for the 8th and final playoff spot in the West. Overall the suns have had a decent year as they are 38-35, which includes a 21-17 mark on their home floor. Phoenix has gone 17-7 ATS in their last 24 Sunday games, but just 7-15 ATS the last 22 home games in the series. The Suns have been a good offensive team this year, ranking 5th in scoring (103.8 ppg), 13th in shooting, 15th in 3 point shooting and 13th in FT shooting. Defensively the Suns have been poor this year, ranking 26th in points allowed (103.4 ppg), 18th in defensive FG% and 23rd in 3 point defense.

Pick:  I will be going with the Under in this one. Yes Phoenix home game have been high scoring, but the Thunder have had offensive troubles on the road of late, scoring just 91 and 89 points in their last 2 games away from home. Phoenix has also struggled on offense of late, especially at home where they have averaged just 90.2 ppg in their last 6 games. The Thunder are not a good defensive team, but Phoenix has allowed just 93 ppg in their last 10 games. I feel this line is just too high.
