Tonight the Georgia State Panthers will take on the Xavier Musketeers at Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida in the 3rd round of the NCAA Tournament. The game has a start time of 6:10 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on TNT. Current Vegas betting odds have the Musketeers listed as 7.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 132. 

Analysis: The Georgia State Panthers were the best team in the Sun Belt Conference all year and proved it by winning both the regular season title and the Conference Tournament Title. Then they followed that up with a shocking 2nd round win over the 3 seed Baylor Bears. Now they have to avoid the letdown as they get ready to face the Musketeers from the Big East. For the year the Panthers are now 25-9. Georgia State has gone 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games following a ATS win, but just 6-15 ATS in their last 21 non-conference games. The Panthers have been a very good offensive squad this year, ranking 74th in scoring (71.5 ppg), 20th in shooting (47.9%), 223rd in 3 point shooting (33.2%) and 53rd in FT shooting (72.6%). The defense for this team has been very good as well, ranking 61st in points allowed (62.0 ppg), 10th in defensive FG% (38.3%) and 78th in 3 point defense (32.4%).  

The Xavier Musketeers lost to the Villanova wildcats in the Big East Tournament, but they got right back on track with a 19 point win over Ole Miss in the 2nd round of the Big Dance on Thursday. For the year the Musketeers are now 22-13 overall and have gone 4-3 on neutral courts. Xavier has gone 19-6-2 ATS in their last 27 NCAA Tournament games and 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Xavier has been a good offensive team this year, as they come in ranked 39th in scoring (73.6 ppg), 30th in shooting (47.3%), 134th in 3 point shooting (35.2%) and 65th in FT shooting (72.3%). Defensively the Musketeers have not been that good this year, ranking 196th in points allowed (67.6 ppg), 191st in defensive FG% (43.4%) and 194th in 3 point defense (34.4%).        

Pick: I feel that the Panthers had their 15 minutes of fame and now they will meet their demise in this one vs an Underrated Xavier squad that is off an easy 19 point win over ole Miss in their last game. Georgia State is a good team and they do have the better defense here, but still I just don't see them being up for this one as much as their last game. Xavier rolls in this one.
