Oklahoma State Cowboys vs Oregon Ducks NCAA Tournament Odds, Free Pick

Tonight the Oregon Ducks will do battle with the Oklahoma State Cowboys at CenturyLink Center Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament. The game has a start time of 6:50 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on TBS. Current Vegas betting odds have the Ducks listed as 1 point favorites, while the total is set at 136.

Analysis: The Oregon Ducks come in hot as they have won 11 of their last 13 games, but one of their losses was in the Pac-12 Title game to Arizona. Still they have had a great year, going 25-9 overall, while finishing 2nd in the Pac-12 Regular season.  This will be the Ducks 12th trip to the Big Dance, where they have 1 Final Four and 1 National Title. Oregon has gone 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 19-9-1 ATS in their last 29 non-conference games. The Ducks have been a strong offensive team this year, ranking 26th in scoring (75.6 ppg), 61st in shooting (46.1%), 97th in 3 point shooting (36.0%) and 13th in FT shooting (76.0%). The defense for this team has not been very good this year as they come in ranked 285th in points allowed (70.7 ppg), 126th in defensive FG% (42.1%) and 114th in 3 point defense (33.0%).

The Oklahoma State Cowboys do not come into this game playing good ball at all as they have gone just 1-6 in their last 7 games and were bounced in the opening round of the Big 12 Tournament by Oklahoma. The Cowboys did finish just 7th in the Big 12, but their overall 18-13 record was good enough for the committee. Oklahoma State has been to the Big Dance 26 times with 6 trips to the Final Four and 2 National Titles. Oklahoma State has gone 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 games after scoring less than 50 points in their previous game, but just 4-11 ATS in their last 15 neutral site games. The Cowboys have been an average offensive team this year, ranking 180th in scoring (67.3 ppg), 150th in shooting (43.9%), 153rd in 3 point shooting (34.9%) and 51st in FT shooting (72.6%). The defense for this team has been solid this year, ranking 68th in points allowed (62.3 ppg), 46th in defensive FG% (39.9%) and 158th in 3 point defense (33.8%).

Pick:  I will look to the Under in this one. Oregon has been a strong offensive team this year, but they have been grounded by teams that play excellent defense like vs Utah and Arizona. the Cowboys do play solid defense as they have allowed just 62.3 ppg, including just 61.8 ppg in their neutral site games. Oklahoma State is not a great offense and will slow the game to keep the game from getting too high scoring. Should be a tight game with allot of walking the ball up the court late. Provided we get no OT this one should stay around 130 points.
