NBA Basketball Betting Odds Houston Rockets vs Cleveland Cavaliers Free Pick

Wednesday night NBA and we will see the Houston Rockets travel to the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers. The game has a start time of 7:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN. Current Vegas betting odds have Cleveland listed as 2.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 147.

Analysis:  The Houston Rockets come in with a solid 23-11 mark on the year, which is good enough for 3rd pace in the Southwest Division. The Rockets are slumping a bit as they have won just 4 of their last 10 games, but they are 11-5 on the road this year. Houston is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following a ATS loss and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game, but just 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games playing on 1 days rest. Houston has been an average offensive squad this year, ranking 16th in scoring (101.0 ppg), 26th in shooting, 19th in 3 point shooting and 28th in FT shooting. The defense for this team has been very good this year, ranking 3rd in points allowed (97.4 ppg), 5th in defensive FG% and 2nd in 3 point defense.

Cleveland Cavalier fans expected big things from their team now that Lebron James is back in town, but that really hasn't happened so far as they are just 19-16 on the year, including 11-8 at home are off a bad road loss to the lowly Sixers. Making matters worse for this team is that now they are without Lebron for another week or so and could be without Irving for this game. Cleveland is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a winning road record, but just 4-10 ATS in their last 14 vs. the Southwest and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games. Cleveland has been an average offensive team this year, ranking 17th in scoring (100.6 ppg), 17th in shooting, 18th in 3 point shooting and 12th in FT shooting. Defensively the Cavs have been average as well, ranking 15th in points allowed (99.3 ppg), 27th in defensive FG% and 16th in 3 point defense.

Pick:  I will look at the Under in this one. The Cavs are missing some offense from their team and the Rockets have played very good on the defensive end of the floor this year. Cleveland scored just 92 vs Philly and could have a tougher time vs the Rockets tonight. For Houston they are not a great offensive team and the Cavs can play solid defense at home. Just can't see this as a high scoring game.
